Canadian Risk Management (CRM) Designation

McMaster University’s Centre for Continuing Education provides the educational component to earn your Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation. To earn your CRM, student must successfully complete the three risk management courses offered by CCE and three standardized exams, one for each risk management course.  The three standardized exams are administered by Global Risk Management Institute and are outside the scope of work you do to complete your McMaster courses.  Registration and payment of the CRM designation exam are handled directly by GRMI.

It is the responsibility of the students to comply with the program admission and course requirements of the institute. Students should contact the institute directly for detailed information on designation requirements.

Why Should You Earn Your CRM?

The Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation is a widely recognized qualification that provides risk managers a foundation of knowledge and skills needed to identify, assess, monitor and limit risks. The CRM is recognized by the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) and awarded by the Global Risk Management Institute (GRMI).

Attaining the CRM designation demonstrates a level of professional commitment, knowledge and skills that employers in both public and private sectors recognize.
