Project Management Concentration

Important update about our Project Management concentration

McMaster University Continuing Education is phasing out the Project Management concentration for all students at the end of the Winter 2023 term. We are committed to assisting our students in completing the concentration during that time. If you are interested in completing the Project Management concentration, please contact us at for more information on the program closure and course schedules.

Students must complete 5 core courses from the existing Business Administration Diploma in addition to the required Project Management courses. You can choose between the Project Management In-Person stream (complete all 6 in-class modules) and the Project Management Online stream (complete all 3 online modules). Students must complete all 8-11 courses depending on stream in order to qualify for the Business Administration Diploma with a concentration in Project Management.

The 5 core Business Administration courses are available in-person or online.

Courses should be completed in any oder/stream listed below.

Elective Courses

Please Note:

  • BUS 860 (Foundations of Business Finance) is replacing HRM 817 (Business Finance & Accounting)  as a core course. Students who already took HRM 817  do NOT need to take BUS 860.
  • You must select between the Project Management Online stream, or the Project Management In-Person stream. You do not have to take both streams to earn the concentration.

Project Management Online Courses

If you have decided to complete the online stream, you must complete all 3 modules (3 10 week online courses).

Global Knowledge Program:

Students must complete the Level 2 Certificate of Completion (at least 7 courses, 18 days of training). The Global Knowledge program offers numerous courses to choose from - please visit the Global Knowledge website for a listing of courses and to register.
Students interested in IT Project Management can complete the Global Knowledge Advanced Certificate in IT Project Management and earn a Business Administration Diploma with a concentration in IT Project Management. Please visit the Global Knowledge website for more information.
