Lynn Cartan’s career has spanned the automotive, energy, banking, and healthcare, and education sectors. Her areas of expertise include project management, change management, quality management, and adult education. Acting in a global project environment, she has led geographically diverse virtual teams in rapid development and deployment. She holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Lynn currently works as an Education Consultant developing and leading courses for McMaster University, Fleming College, and HealthCareCAN. McMaster University has honoured her with an Educational Innovator award. Lynn has been involved with CHIMA, developing Professional Practice Briefs and acting as an editor for CHIMA’s SNOMED CT Primer and a reviewer for The Canadian Health Information Management Lifecycle.
She graduated on the President’s Honour Roll from Fleming College’s Health Information Management program and holds a CHIMA designation of Certified in Health Information Management - Honours (CHIM) Honours. Lynn graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley with a Bachelor of Adult Education degree and certificates in Integrated Learning Design and Workplace Education.
Outside of work, Lynn keeps busy with a variety of artistic interests She is a Certified Copic Instructor and develops and teaches courses on Copic markers and how to use them. She also is involved in watercolour painting, special effects make-up, card making, scrapbooking, and has been learning to play the piano.
